The Metropolitan Police Department continues its investigation into a shooting incident that occurred in Northeast, leaving one man dead and three others injured. The scene unfolded on Monday when Fifth District officers were summoned to the 1200 block of Mount Olivet Road, Northeast, following reports of a shooting at around 12:10 p.m.
Upon arrival, officers made the grim discovery of three men wounded by gunfire. DC Fire and EMS teams promptly transported the victims to a local hospital. Despite exhaustive efforts to save his life, one of the victims, Breon Quick, aged 31 from the Northeast region of the city, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead. The two other male victims are on the mend with injuries considered non-life-threatening. In a separate but related incident, an adult female arrived independently at an area hospital, also suffering from a gunshot wound, and is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries, as detailed by the MPD release.
The Metropolitan Police Department is urging anyone with information about the Mount Olivet Road shooting to come forward. A reward of up to $25,000 is being offered for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for homicides in the District of Columbia. No suspects or motives have been publicly identified at this stage of the investigation.
