A fire at a Phoenix mobile home park yesterday afternoon displaced more than 30 people. According to FOX 10 Phoenix, around 4 p.m. near Van Buren Street and 43rd Avenue, a blaze erupted that would engulf five homes by the time firefighters managed to control the situation.
Phoenix Fire Capt. Todd Keller disclosed details of the challenging situation, stating, "Crews arrived and found multiple mobile homes with smoke and flames coming from the interiors. Command immediately balanced the assignment to a first alarm. Firefighters were able to sectorize the incident and attack the flames from all positions. Crews had to manage and mitigate downed power lines," in a statement obtained by FOX 10 Phoenix. Although firefighters responded quickly and no injuries were reported among civilians or crew, the fire caused substantial damage to the community.
As with similar incidents, determining the cause of the fire remains a primary focus. According to ABC15, the cause has not yet been identified, and the investigation is ongoing. The situation remains under review as officials work to establish the source of the fire.
