An overturned cement truck has become the source of a major traffic disruption on Wurzbach Parkway, prompting closures in both directions near the San Antonio International Airport. According to KSAT, the incident occurred at an unspecified time and resulted in cement spilling from the truck, obstructing the road and causing significant traffic bottlenecks.
As responders work to clear the debris, eastbound drivers are being rerouted at Highway 281, while westbound traffic is exiting at Jones Maltsberger Road. Although details surrounding the crash are scant, authorities have confirmed that the driver escaped the incident without injury. Meanwhile, those typically traversing this stretch of road are advised to seek alternate routes as the Parkway remains impassable. The cause behind the accident is still a mystery, and more information is awaited. San Antonio police have not reported any injuries associated with the accident, as per KSAT.
Fox San Antonio offers a clearer picture of the accident's timeline, reporting that the spill happened around 5:30 a.m. today. As a result, the westbound lane is completely closed, with eastbound traffic squeezed into a single shoulder lane.
