An Oxnard man has been arrested following a domestic violence call, leading to charges that include firearm offenses, according to local authorities. Eric Madrid, a 32-year-old Oxnard resident, was taken into custody after he reportedly threatened to kill his ex-girlfriend with a gun. The Oxnard Police Department disclosed that officers responded to the incident on Friday, and the subsequent investigation led them to discover two loaded firearms in Madrid's vehicle and residence; the man is currently prohibited from possessing firearms due to prior criminal convictions.
The Oxnard Police's Family Protection Unit, alongside the Drug Enforcement and Special Enforcement Units, spearheaded the search and arrest efforts, Madrid now faces charges including making criminal threats, assault with a firearm, and domestic battery resulting in injury, he is also facing charges for being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm.
