A tragic incident occurred last night on McKnight Road, resulting in the death of a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. As reported by WPXI, the collision happened just before 11 p.m., when a car traveling northward in the passing lane approached the McKnight Hotel and encountered a woman standing in its path. Despite the driver's efforts, a collision was unavoidable, and the woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The Ross Township police are in the midst of an investigation following the incident. The driver, according to the police, showed no signs of intoxication at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the woman.
At the scene of the crash, on the 4500 block of McKnight Road, WTAE observed a vehicle with significant damage. The Allegheny County medical examiner was summoned as part of the response.
