A tragic incident unfolded at Pewaukee Lake early yesterday when a 17-year-old succumbed after a late-night jump into the waters, according to FOX 6 Now. The Village of Pewaukee Police Department reported they were summoned just after 12 am yesterday by an individual whose friend had jumped into the lake but did not reemerge.
Previous events at the lake have cast long shadows over the community, with a 22-year-old drowning in July 2020 and, this January, another life lost when a man fell through the ice on a UTV then in 2021, an urgent rescue by four fishermen who saved a father and his daughter from near death, their ordeal beginning when the girl plummeted into the icy lake and her father, ensnared by fishing lines, followed in an attempt to save her, this information coming from Journal Sentinel.
In the wake of the recent incident, Pewaukee Police have voiced their current belief that alcohol was not a contributing element, which stands in contrast to the July 2020 drowning where it was considered a factor, as reported by WISN.
