As the city of Phoenix braces for a scorching week ahead, the latest weather updates indicate that temperatures are going to soar far above the comfort zone. According to the National Weather Service's forecast, today's temperature is expected to reach a high of nearly 110 degrees under clear skies, with light winds shifting from variable to west-southwest later in the afternoon. Residents can expect a similar pattern throughout the week, with unrelenting sunshine and heat intensifying as the days progress.
Tonight, the mercury will dip slightly to a low around 81 degrees, with calm winds anticipated after midnight. The subsequent days, however, will not offer much respite from the heat. The Weather Service predicts that Wednesday will see a high of 112 degrees, with temperatures expected to rise even higher on Juneteenth, when temperatures are forecasted to reach a blistering 115 degrees.
Thursday will follow the trend with continued clear skies over Phoenix and a high near 112 degrees, with potential wind gusts up to 20 mph in the afternoon. As for the nighttime, while the temperature will cool down somewhat, lows will remain uncomfortably high, hovering in the low 80s. The weekend offers a slight respite; Saturday's high is predicted to be near 107, and Sunday may cool just a bit further to 102 degrees.
The consistent pattern of sunny days and clear nights extends into the beginning of next week, with Monday's forecast mirroring the weekend's sunny disposition, showing a high also near 102 degrees.
