Pittsburgh's iconic Roberto Clemente Bridge, also known to locals as the Sixth Street Bridge, is set to close for nearly the entire day on Monday, June 23, from the early hours of 6 a.m. until the evening at 10 p.m. If you're wondering why the bridge is taking a day off from its usual bustle, it's showbiz, baby – a film shoot is locking it down, according to the Allegheny County.
But that’s not the only bridge-related update in the Steel City. The Rachel Carson (Ninth Street) Bridge won’t be available as a detour, as it’s currently undergoing a routine inspection to ensure it stays in good condition. Travelers moving between Downtown and the North Shore can instead use the Andy Warhol (Seventh Street) Bridge.
Public Works is not connected to the film shoot and is sharing this information solely as a public service announcement.
