
Placer County residents can attend the free Wildfire Preparedness Expo on Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Bowman Fire Station 10 in Auburn. The event will provide information and strategies to protect homes and prepare for wildfire season. District 5 Supervisor Cindy Gustafson said, “Events like this are essential for helping residents understand what they can do to prepare and keep themselves and their neighbors safe. It’s also a great opportunity to build community around a shared goal: resilience,” according to the County of Placer.
The Wildfire Preparedness Expo will include lessons on home fortification, fire-adapted gardening, and emergency action planning. Attendees can view fire rescue gear displays, talk with safety professionals, and receive complimentary refreshments. Participating groups include CAL FIRE, the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, and the Placer County Air Pollution Control District. CAL FIRE / Placer County Fire Chief Brian Estes said, “Our goal is to meet people where they are and provide the tools they need to be proactive,” as reported by the County of Placer.
The Wildfire Preparedness Expo will be held on Saturday at 13760 Lincoln Way in Auburn. Agencies including the Placer County Sheriff’s Office, Placer County Office of Emergency Services, and local Fire Safe Councils will participate. The event will provide information and resources on wildfire safety and preparedness, as stated by the County of Placer.
