Commuters in Plymouth are facing a detour as the Carlson Parkway closes between Xenium Lane and Interstate 494. Plymouth Metrolink has announced that Route 747 will be rerouted to avoid the closed section of the road, as reported by the City of Plymouth. Eastbound buses in the afternoon will now continue on Xenium Lane to Sunset Trail, taking a left to County Road 15, and then resuming their regular route at Station 73. Meanwhile, the morning westbound buses heading out of Station 73 onto Sunset Trail will follow a similar detour, ultimately taking a right on Xenium Lane and a left on Highway 55, before getting back on track with the regular route.
The detour instructs that there will be no service on County Road 6 between Highway 55 and Xenium Lane, nor on Carlson Parkway, as per the City of Plymouth. Instead, passengers should utilize the stops along Xenium Lane. While the observance of these changes is vital for maintaining the daily flow, passengers might find some solace in the option to utilize Plymouth Metrolink's Click-and-Ride service, which could ease some of the disruptions prompted by the detour.
Plymouth's Click-and-Ride service could be particularly resourceful during this period, providing rides to and from any location in Plymouth, including park and ride. This service also facilitates transfers on all Metrolink express routes. More information on the Click-and-Ride service is available at plymouthmn.gov/clickandride.
For those requiring assistance due to the changes, Transit Administrator Nur Kasin can be contacted for interpreter services by calling 763-509-5013 or emailing [email protected]. Any queries related to Plymouth Metrolink can be directed to [email protected] or by calling 763-509-5535, the City of Plymouth stated.
