A tragic incident unfolded at a Haltom City apartment complex yesterday when police responded to reports of an armed individual. According to the Haltom City Police Department's social media post, at approximately 11:37 a.m., officers arrived at the scene at 4100 Northern Cross Blvd. after reports came in about a person brandishing a firearm.
The officers secured the vicinity and made contact with individuals inside the apartment. Before long, they heard multiple gunshots emanating from the unit. Forced to react, the officers entered the apartment and were confronted with the aftermath of violence. A male suspect was found deceased, and a female victim was in critical condition. The initial findings suggest that the suspect and the victim knew each other.
The investigation into this event remains active, and authorities are expected to release more information as it becomes available. Haltom City Police have confirmed that there is no ongoing threat to the public and have requested that people stay clear of the area to aid the work of first responders and investigators who will be at the location for the foreseeable future.
