The Pottawatomie County Sheriff's Office in Oklahoma is encouraging community participation in its annual fundraiser supporting the K9 unit. The 9th Annual Justin Terney Memorial Poker Run, held in memory of a late officer, aims to provide essential funding for the department’s canine deputies. "This poker run directly supports the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office K9 Program—helping cover the costs of food, veterinary care, equipment, training, and future expansion," the Sheriff's Office shared in a social media post.
In memory of Officer Justin Terney, who is remembered for his dedication and service, the event fosters community engagement in a tribute to his legacy. According to the department's post, "Your participation not only keeps his memory alive but also plays a critical role in keeping our K9 unit strong and ready to serve."
For those unable to attend but interested in contributing, further event details and donation options will be announced. The Sheriff's Office will provide information on how the community can participate and support the K9 unit.
