
A 22-year-old man, identified as Vincent Dasani Wesley, was apprehended and charged in connection with an early Sunday morning shooting incident in Raleigh, which left another man critically injured. According to the Raleigh Police Department, the altercation occurred in the 100 block of Star Street shortly after 2:30 a.m., when authorities were called to the scene. CBS 17 reported that upon arrival, officers discovered a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound and transported him to a nearby hospital where he was listed with life-threatening conditions.
The subsequent investigation led to Wesley's arrest three days later, as communicated by the Raleigh Police. Wesley, already facing a felony charge for previous criminal activities, has been charged with assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill or inflict serious injury and possession of a firearm by felon. ABC11 highlighted that he has not been granted bond and is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Wake County on Thursday afternoon.
Currently, the shooting victim remains in a state of critical condition, fighting for his life as the days progress. The Raleigh Police Department has yet to release the victim's name, keeping the focus on the investigation and the legal proceedings ahead for the accused.
