On the afternoon of Tuesday, a commute on Highway 65 took a dramatic turn as a gas-powered vehicle ignited, causing a blaze near the Galleria exit. The Roseville Fire Department was dispatched to the scene at 5:09 p.m. to address the emergency.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered the vehicle had pulled over ablaze, and the fire had spread into adjacent vegetation. While battling the flames, which had begun to threaten nearby commercial structures, the firefighters executed a "quick stop" preventing any damage to the businesses, as reported in a Facebook post by Roseville Fire Department. No evacuations were reported during the incident.
As the situation unfolded, there was one reported minor injury, with the individual refusing transport for further medical attention. Aiding the Roseville Fire Department on the scene were units from the Rocklin Fire Department and officers from both the Roseville and Rocklin Police Departments, alongside the California Highway Patrol.
