A Richmond County woman has been charged with murder following a fatal shooting in Dobbins Heights. Janaydia Nyshamique Tender, aged 26, was arrested in connection with the death of Eddie “Tank” Brooks Thomas Jr., who was found with a gunshot wound last wednesday. According to the QCNews, Tender is currently being held without bond as the investigation, led by the Richmond County Sheriff's Office, continues.
The incident took place at a residence on Rose Street, and while additional details about the circumstances of the shooting have yet to be released, Sheriff Mark Gulledge has indicated that the case is far from closed with the possibility of further arrests. As reported by WCNC, an array of emergency services responded to the scene, including Hamlet Police, Fire and EMS, and Cordova Fire and Rescue.
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office discovered the victim, 43-year-old Thomas Jr., after responding to the early morning call. Thomas Jr., despite being found at the Rose Street house, didn't reside there. WSOCTV has specified the time of deputies' arrival at approximately 2:30 a.m. Tender was arrested a day later and now faces charges for first-degree murder.
