In a recent effort to curb impaired driving in Rocklin, authorities conducted a DUI checkpoint that led to multiple contacts but only one citation. According to a post on the Rocklin Police Department's news bulletin, the operation took place last Friday evening, targeting the area of Whitney Boulevard near Argonaut Avenue, from six in the evening until eleven at night.
The checkpoint was part of a larger initiative to ensure the safety of the public on the road. During the operation, a total of 421 vehicles were contacted by the police, and out of those, only one driver was cited for operating a vehicle with a suspended/revoked license, as reported by the Rocklin Police Department.
The location for such DUI checkpoints is strategic, often chosen based on areas that have experienced a high incidence of impaired driving-related crashes. The Rocklin Police Department establishes these checkpoints to intercept and remove potentially impaired drivers from the road, thereby reducing the possibility of accidents and ensuring that the public can travel with an increased sense of security.
