In the early hours last Sunday, the Sacramento Police Department was called to a tragic scene—a hit-and-run that ultimately claimed the life of a pedestrian. As per a Facebook post by the Sacramento Police Department, officers arrived at the intersection of 6th Street and J Street following reports of a vehicle versus pedestrian collision, the incident having occurred just before 2:30 a.m.
On-scene officers and fire personnel discovered an adult male down in the roadway, who was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle involved, eluding responsibility for its deadly aftermath, had left before authorities arrived. As the investigation continues, details surrounding the fatal incident remain scarce as detectives from the Major Collision Investigation Unit (MCIU) and Crime Scene Investigators (CSI) have taken the reins, as reported by the Sacramento Police Department.
