The Sacramento Police Department has reported a fatal shooting on Florin Road this past Wednesday night. In a post on their official Facebook page, the department revealed that officers were dispatched to the 3800 block of Florin Road shortly before 11:00 p.m. on Wednesday, following reports of a shooting occurring in that area. Upon arrival, officers discovered an adult male victim with at least one gunshot wound. Regrettably, despite efforts to save the man's life, he was pronounced dead at the scene by the Fire personnel. The Sacramento Police Department has detained a suspect near the scene.
Following the shooting, officers located and detained the male adult suspect. Homicide Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators took over the investigation. They worked through the night, processing the scene, canvassing for additional information, and speaking to witnesses in an attempt to piece together the events that unfolded. The suspect, identified as 40-year-old Carlos Magana of Mexico, was arrested and booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail on homicide-related charges.
The identity of the deceased remains undisclosed, pending notification of next of kin by the Sacramento County Coroner’s Office. The incident's circumstances are still under investigation, and further details remain limited at this time.
