A suspect was arrested on Tuesday after being accused of carrying out repeated sexual assaults against three children over the span of four years. Fox San Antonio reports that Matthew Martinez faces charges including Continuous Sexual Abuse of a Child Under 14, Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child, and Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact.
The Bexar County Jail is now the temporary residence of the accused, whose bond remains unset. According to court documents, the alleged abuse endured between January 1, 2017 and August 1, 2021, involving victims who are currently 14 years old, 13 years old, and 10 years old. The children recounted their experiences to authorities during a forensic interview, detailing how they were allegedly subjected to repeated violations, sometimes on a daily basis.
In a statement obtained by News 4 San Antonio, it was disclosed that Martinez has been booked into the county jail. The seriousness of the alleged crimes has not been underscored, as officials worked to corroborate the allegations made during the forensic interviews conducted with the children.
