FOX San Antonio reports that on May 24, Medel is accused of stealing a case of Twisted Tea and, when confronted by a security guard who requested him to halt, he dashed for his vehicle in an attempt to leave the scene.

In a harried state, the witness got out of his car to apprehend Medel who started driving toward him, which led the witness, fearing for his safety, to discharge his firearm multiple times aimed at Medel, as described by an official affidavit obtained by FOX San Antonio.
After the ordeal, law enforcement found the suspect’s vehicle abandoned close to the scene, and they were able to link it to Medel. News 4 San Antonio detailed that the witness was later able to make a definitive identification of Medel as the man behind the aggravated robbery and assault.
