The San Francisco Chief Medical Examiner's Office is reaching out to the public seeking assistance in identifying an individual who passed away earlier last month, the office announced. As reported by the official City of San Francisco website, the man, presumed to be in his thirties with brown hair and eyes and distinguishing tattoos, including one of a cross on his right cheekbone, was found deceased on May 12 in a bathroom in Golden Gate Park.
The decedent, who remains unidentified, was located near Martin Luther King, Jr. Drive and 19th Avenue. The Medical Examiner's Office typically identifies most individuals within a day through identification cards, fingerprints, interviews, or DNA testing. If these methods prove unsuccessful, as they unfortunately have with this case, support from the community becomes invaluable.
Authorities have exhausted their standard procedures and are reaching out with an artist's sketch in the hopes that someone will come forward with information about the unidentified man, allowing his story, whatever it may have been, to find some measure of conclusion. In a statement released by the OCME, it is asked that anyone with potential knowledge about the decedent contact the OCME Investigative Division by calling 415-641-2220 or by emailing [email protected] or [email protected], referring to OCME Case Number 2025-0673.
