
Emergency crews were dispatched this afternoon after a call was received by 911 at 4:18 PM, alerting authorities of a missing person who had been cliff diving at a mining pit near Gilbert. According to the social media announcement from St. Louis County Sheriff Gordon Ramsay, a witness at the scene reported seeing the individual briefly surface before disappearing and not being located since.
The current status of the person is unknown, and the St. Louis County Rescue Squad has an active search and rescue operation in effect. The St. Louis County Sheriff's Office is keeping the public informed via social media, promising more details as they become available. The identity of the missing individual has not yet been shared, adding an urgency to the plea for any relevant information that may assist in the rescue efforts.
