A commonplace disagreement between roommates over a seemingly trivial object escalated into an incident of violence in Seattle. According to the Seattle Police Department Blotter, a stabbing occurred in the 600 block of 3rd Avenue on the afternoon of June 27, resulting in one arrest. Officers arriving at the scene discovered a 34-year-old man with a stab wound to his left hand, which, fortunately, was described as superficial.
The confrontation arose from what the officers learned was an argument between the victim and his 33-year-old roommate over a speaker. During the argument, with a snap-blade knife, the suspect allegedly inflicted the injury and managed to abscond with the victim's two cell phones. Responding to the scene, the Seattle Fire Department provided aid, but hospitalization was not deemed necessary for the injured individual.
Promptly after the incident, a description of the suspect was broadcast, leading to their location just two blocks away, in the 80 block of Columbia Street. The man was arrested without incident by West Precinct patrol officers, as reported by the SPD Blotter.
The suspect was taken into King County Jail, facing investigations for domestic violence assault, being positively identified, and found with the alleged weapon and the stolen cell phones on him.
