Seattle's Belltown neighborhood became the latest backdrop for the city's gun violence issues as police investigate a shooting that occurred late last night. As reported by the Seattle Police Department, a woman was treated for a non-life-threatening gunshot wound to her arm after a shooting incident in the area of 2nd Avenue and Bell Street around 11:20 p.m.
Responding officers found the Seattle Fire Department attending to the woman who is reportedly experiencing homelessness. She was subsequently taken to Harborview Medical Center by an American Medical Response ambulance, where she is said to be in stable condition. The police investigation so far has indicated that the victim was shot just south of the initial location by what seems to be a small-caliber bullet.
No suspects have been identified or arrests made in the immediate aftermath of the shooting. The circumstances that led to this incident are still unclear, and the investigation by Seattle police is ongoing. The authorities are now calling on anyone with information to step forward.
