Authorities in Houston have made a second arrest in connection with a fatal shooting that took place at 7550 Long Point Road last month, according to a report by the city's news service. The suspect, Keyandre Lejuan Benjamin, 21, was charged with murder and aggravated assault following the deadly incident that occurred on the night of May 6, which claimed the life of 37-year-old Keisha Warren and left a 40-year-old man wounded.
The Houston Police Department (HPD) patrol officers were the first responders to the emergency call, finding both victims in the parking lot with gunshot wounds at about 11:10 p.m. that evening. The male victim was taken to the hospital in stable condition, but in a bitter twist, Ms. Warren was found dead in the parking lot. Investigators were led to Benjamin as a suspect, and with the assistance of the HPD Narcotics Tactical Team, he was arrested on Wednesday and later booked into jail, as reported by the city's news service.
Another suspect, Rodney Johnson, 23, had already been charged with murder in connection with the case and was arrested on June 3. Johnson, alongside Benjamin, is facing the stark stance of justice in the courts of Harris County, as noted in the 185th and 488th State District Courts respectively.
