Shaquille O'Neal has started work on a new youth sports complex in the northeast Las Vegas valley. According to 8NewsNow, the project is meant to bring resources to the area, which has been described as "It’s kind of a service desert."

Set to open in late 2026, the complex is being developed through a partnership between Shaquille O'Neal and organizations such as the Las Vegas Raiders and the UFC. The site, donated by the Clark County Commission, is located near Lamb Boulevard and Lake Mead Boulevard. It will include facilities for various sports and community programs. "If every big-time person just took care of where they lived at, the world would be a better place," O'Neal told 8NewsNow.

A new complex will feature a 30,000-square-foot clubhouse for the Boys and Girls Club of Southern Nevada and a Communities in Schools Alumni Center, as reported by News3LV. Tami Hance-Leher, CEO and state director for Communities in Schools Nevada, said, “We’re going to help them with job placement. We’re going to help them stay in school. We’re going to help them with financial literacy.” The complex will also include a 54,000-square-foot multi-sports field with a UFC-themed mixed martial arts and boxing center. O'Neal, who helped lead the project, referred to Elaine Wynn, saying, “She was the best, she was a visionary, she was a dreamer such as myself, and I was lucky to be able to call her a friend and a mentor,” as per 8NewsNow.
