The early morning calm of South Memphis was shattered by gunfire yesterday, resulting in the death of a man. The Memphis Police Department (MPD) received reports of a shooting on Gaiters Park Lane near Crump Boulevard, at approximately 5:50 a.m., as noted by FOX13 Memphis. Upon their arrival, officers discovered the victim, later identified as a 22-year-old male, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
As the investigation unfolds, the assailant remains on the run, urging MPD to seek any individuals with knowledge of the incident to come forward. "Anyone with information should contact CrimeStoppers at 901-528-CASH," MPD emphasized in a statement obtained by Action News 5. The call to action is meant to rapidly gather any leads that might aid in apprehending the suspect, whose information is currently sparse.
As of now, the Memphis Police have disclosed limited details about the shooting or the suspect at large. They have not yet to officially release the victim's identity to the public, as reported by WREG News.
