Residents of Stillwater and nearby communities can take advantage of a special collection event to safely dispose of household hazardous waste and outdated electronics. As detailed by Washington County, the event will be held at the Lily Lake Ice Arena on October 11, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m..
According to an announcement on Washington County's official website, the one-day event is an extension of the services normally offered at the Washington County Environmental Center. Participants looking to securely rid themselves of confidential documents will also have the chance to take advantage of free shredding services.
The local Environmental Centers operate year-round, providing a multitude of free and convenient disposal options for household hazardous waste, electronics, and other recyclables, as per Washington County. These centers serve as a testament to the county’s dedication to waste reduction and resource conservation.
For those with an inclination towards reuse and repurposing, the Environmental Centers offer an intriguing feature: the Free Product Room. It is here where residents may browse and claim previously owned items such as paint, stain, automotive supplies, and household cleaners. "All items taken to the Environmental Centers are inspected to determine if they are usable products," the county explains.
