
A tragic drive-by shooting in Pontiac on Friday claimed the life of a 26-year-old Auburn Hills man, according to the Oakland County Sheriff's Office. The victim was shot multiple times around 4 p.m. near Auburn Avenue and Russell Street, the Sheriff's Office detailed that he sustained wounds to his wrist, back, and torso, and despite being quickly transported to the hospital, the man's life was ultimately taken by his injuries, as reported by CBS News Detroit.
The suspect, a 32-year-old Pontiac man, was apprehended within hours of the incident during a coordinated traffic stop on Middlebelt Road and Long Lake Road in West Bloomfield Township, as confirmed by The Detroit News and shell casings strewn across the street painted a grim picture of the violence that occurred, local authorities made swift work in tracing and detaining the alleged perpetrator, witnesses reportedly observed a man in a gray vehicle discharging multiple rounds before fleeing the scene, continuing west on Auburn Avenue.
