Nearly five years after the fatal shooting on Grisby Road, the Houston Police Department arrested a suspect connected to the 2020 case. The suspect, Ceaira Bluford, is facing murder charges in the 230th State District Court. Bluford's arrest was announced in a news release from the City of Houston.
On October 5, 2020, police were called to an apartment at 14805 Grisby Road and found 26-year-old Tony Williams unresponsive with a gunshot wound to the head. Authorities said a friend had not been able to contact him for two days. "Officers responded to the victim’s apartment after a friend made entry into the apartment and found the victim unresponsive," said Houston Police Department Homicide Division Detectives C. Davidson and R. Bounds, as stated by the City of Houston.
Bluford was identified as a suspect in the 2020 murder of Williams, with murder charges filed by early 2023 by the Harris County District Attorney's Office. After an investigation, authorities arrested Bluford last Saturday. He was booked into Travis County Jail and is awaiting extradition to Harris County. According to Houston Police, "On May 31, Bluford was located and arrested by Pflugerville Police Department," as reported by the City of Houston.
