Justice edges a step closer for the family of 17-year-old Jose Rodriguez, who was tragically killed in a shooting on Caddo Lake Lane last year, as the suspect has now been formally charged. City of Houston News reports that Raheim Bushnell Davalos, 21, faces capital murder charges related to the November 30 incident that left Rodriguez dead at the scene.
Details provided by the Houston Police Department (HPD) indicated a dark-colored SUV was connected to the unfortunate event. The vehicle in question was seen in a surveillance photo released in early December. The video showed the suspects' vehicle, and HPD patrol officers had discovered Rodriguez—after responding to gunshots—lying unresponsive in the street from multiple gunshot wounds. According to the statement made by City of Houston News, Houston Fire Department paramedics pronounced the victim dead upon their arrival.
Investigative efforts led to the identification of Bushnell Davalos as the prime suspect. Captured by the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force, his arrest marked an end to a period of uncertainty for the community and initiated a new phase of legal proceedings.
