
A police chase that launched in Culver City concluded with an altercation as a suspect collided with an innocent driver in Inglewood, police confirmed. The incident, which involved a suspect with reported ties to multiple felonies, including robbery and carjacking, occurred near La Brea and Centinela avenues on Tuesday morning.
The pursuit, as obtained by KTLA, kicked off after the individual refused the Culver City Police Department's attempt to take him into custody and ran a red light, consequently smashing into another vehicle. Despite the chaotic scenario that left vehicles damaged and debris littering the intersection, the police chase was described as brief and not conducted at high speed.
Six people were treated for injuries in the aftermath of the crash, none of which were life-threatening, as per the Los Angeles County Fire Department. Among them were two children, ages 5 and 9, and the woman accompanying the suspect, who were promptly taken to the hospital after the collision. Footage from the Citizen App captured at the chaotic scene showed two individuals being detained by police at gunpoint.
The injuries of those involved were not deemed life-threatening. first responders acted quickly, arriving within four minutes of the collision that reportedly happened around 10:12 a.m., as confirmed by ABC7. While the information regarding the specific nature of the injuries has not been disclosed, the suspect's decision to flee after a brief contact with police upended the morning routine, endangering lives with the swift momentum of a red light ignored.
