Early this morning, around 9:20 a.m., an individual took to robbing a bank on the 4000 block of W. Neptune St. The Tampa Police, working notably close with their federal counterparts at the FBI, are now spearheading the investigation into the incident, according to Tampa Police Department.
Eye-witness reports say the male suspect was garbed in a dark hoodie, layers of clothing, jeans, and gloves, his anonymity maintained by a white bandana and sunglasses covering his face. The suspect had the audacity to calmly approach the teller, not openly showing a weapon but certainly implying that one was present. Following his demands, he fled the bank, not on foot, but rather on an e-bike -- a detail that is as unusual as it is modern.
The suspect's direction after the robbery was purported to be northbound, leaving behind a trail of questions and the Tampa Police Department in pursuit. His image has been scattered to the winds of media and law enforcement networks, but his identity still remains shrouded in as much mystery as his face had been during the heist.
Local authorities have taken to actively requesting the community's assistance. Anybody with information that could potentially lead to unraveling this morning's events is asked to to promptly contact Tampa Police at 813-231-6130 or tip anonymously via Crime Stoppers of Tampa Bay at 1-800-873-TIPS.
The case, designated under number 25-328975, continues to unfold as this story develops.
