The conviction followed an incident on May 13, 2023, during which Williams not only assaulted the woman but also threatened to end her life; this traumatic episode unfolded before the eyes of the victim's daughter who, in a desperate bid for safety and justice, concealed herself in a closet to alert authorities by calling 911, this according to the Tarrant County District Attorney's Office. The jury was also made aware of a previous encounter, occurring a year prior, when the victim was 7 months pregnant, where Williams intensified the cycle of intimidation and violence by using a firearm to threaten her while her children were present.
