The trial of Ronny Walker, accused of the murder of 14-year-old Nilexia Alexander, has been unfolding with dramatic testimony from key witnesses, including the victim's mother and a man involved in that tragic night. Nilexia's mother, Ashley Alexander, gave an emotional testimony, identifying her daughter in surveillance footage, as seen in court and reported by WFLA. "That Nilexia. That’s Nilexia. Her walk, her hair, her skin tone," said Ashley Alexander.
Robert Creed, charged as an accessory after the fact, testified, providing a harrowing account of the evening Nilexia was shot. Creed claimed to have been in the car with Walker and Nilexia on the night of the crime. According to his testimony, obtained by WTSP, Walker had been searching for Nilexia earlier that night. After she got in the car and was questioned by Walker, Creed heard a gunshot, and then saw Nilexia holding her chest. "He's telling me 'Don't say nothing, don't tell nobody, don't tell nobody' or he's going to kill me too," Creed revealed in his testimony.
The defense is challenging Creed's narrative, alleging that he is the actual shooter and is aiming to reduce his own sentence by testifying against Walker. They have taken apart his claims and highlighted the presence of phone records indicating multiple conversations between Creed and Nilexia, information relayed by WTSP. Creed, however, countered these claims, attributing these interactions to someone else using his phone.
Prosecutors are arguing that Walker wanted to permanently silence Nilexia because their relationship had been uncovered. Ashley Alexander also shared details about Nilexia's personal struggles upon learning that she was adopted and her subsequent behavioral issues, as reported by Fox 13 News. Moreover, Creed, in his final testimonial to the jury, stated that he heard Walker threaten Nilexia multiple times both before and after the shooting, a chilling echo to his fear for life. "Telling me don't say anything, don't say anything, don't tell anybody, or he is going to kill me too." Creed insists on testifying to come clean despite receiving threats from Walker throughout the court process.
The trial continues to attract attention. Viewers can follow the proceedings through live streams available on the local news platforms, such as 10 Tampa Bay+. The stream is accessible for those who have downloaded the channel on smart TV devices, like Roku, Amazon Fire, or Apple TV, as shared by WTSP. More witness testimony is slated for the coming days, which may provide further insights into the tragic case of Nilexia Alexander.
