A teenage suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a shooting that wounded four individuals at a private event space in Portland. The Portland Police Bureau (PPB) reports that the incident occurred last Friday. Officers from the East Precinct and the Focused Intervention Team (FIT) were called to the 14900 block of Southeast Stark Street at about 9:43 PM, where they discovered the victims with gunshot wounds.

According to the Portland Police Bureau, the victims included a 15-year-old male, a 23-year-old male, a 32-year-old male, and a 40-year-old female—all were provided with trauma first aid before being transported to the hospital. Despite the severity of their injuries, all are expected to survive, thanks to timely emergency treatment. After the suspect fled the scene, officers interviewed over 100 people in the vicinity, establishing a perimeter based on information and a photo provided by witnesses.

A tip from a community member led to the discovery of two individuals hiding in a backyard shed on Southeast 160th Avenue, some 15 blocks from the original crime scene. Officers used a loudspeaker to coax the pair out of the shed, detaining them without further incident at approximately 10:43 PM. The Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) and the Forensic Evidence Division (FED) arrived later to investigate and process the crime scene. The probe revealed that the assailant had fired at least 25 rounds, causing damage to vehicles and other property as well as injuries to the four people.

The primary suspect, a 16-year-old male from Portland, was booked on multiple charges, including Attempted Murder in the Second Degree and Assault in the First Degree. The PPB has confirmed that the other detained individual, a 17-year-old female, has been interviewed and released without charges.
