
A juvenile was injured in a shooting on Monday in an alley in Uniontown, with officials currently investigating the incident. According to WPXI, the call reporting the shooting came in at approximately 4:20 p.m. Uniontown Police, who are actively reviewing video footage and speaking to witnesses, confirmed the shooting occurred. The young person hit by gunfire is expected to survive.
Further details were provided by WTAE, which noted that the shooting took place before 4:30 p.m. near the intersection of Dunlap and Carlisle streets. Arriving at the scene, police found a teenager with a single gunshot wound to the leg. Despite sustaining injuries serious enough to warrant an airlift to the hospital, the injuries were described as non-life-threatening.
Officials have yet to make any arrests in connection with the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, with Uniontown police making efforts to gather more information potentially held by the street's silent sentinels in the form of surveillance cameras.
