The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office is inviting residents to take part in the #MKESheriff Fitness Camp this Saturday. The event is intended for individuals interested in exploring a career as a deputy sheriff and offers an introduction to the physical requirements of the role, separate from the formal application process. Participation is free and open to anyone who wants to experience elements of the training academy’s routine. The session will focus on physical fitness and community engagement.
The event, announced on social media, will be led by the Academy's Master Fitness Instructor and will serve as both a full workout session and an introduction to the physical training involved in law enforcement. "It's a free experience, a fun experience," the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office stated in their Facebook post.
This initiative is part of efforts by law enforcement agencies nationwide to develop new methods for attracting and training recruits amid recruitment challenges. Residents interested in participating in the fitness camp can sign up by texting Fitness to 414-338-9232.
