Governor Greg Abbott, in a recent announcement, lauded the Lone Star State for topping job creation charts both over the past month and the entire year. According to an official statement from the Governor's Office, Texas outshone its rivals by generating 28,100 jobs in May and a whopping total of 213,300 jobs from May 2024 to May 2025.
"Texas is America’s undisputed jobs engine," Abbott declared, attributing the success to legislative efforts that championed pro-growth policies, as reported by the Governor's Office. The collaboration between his office and the Texas Legislature appears to have crafted an environment ripe for occupational expansion, specifically through enhancing vocational training programs and shedding what they deemed as excessive regulatory impediments. "The policies I signed into law mean more paychecks and more opportunities for Texas families to thrive," Abbott affirmed.
Last week, amid this economic fanfare, Abbott took to the stage to celebrate Texas surpassing all previous employment records. "The number of Texans working, and the size of the Texas labor force" he mentioned, illustrates an upward trajectory for the state's economy, as noted by the Governor's Office.
