The incident in question took place on June 2, on Heather Square just off Celanese Road, near Interstate 77. Rock Hill police were swiftly called to the scene where they found a 33-year-old man injured from gunshots to the lower extremities. "The victim was transported to Piedmont Medical Center and was expected to recover," details WCNC In the wake of the shooting, detectives executed an investigation that would eventually lead to the identification of Gordon as a suspect.

Earlier in the investigation, two other suspects had already been placed under arrest: 20-year-old Antonio Maurice Roberts Jr. and 18-year-old Saiye Kashiir Golden. As reported by WBTV, both individuals were charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a crime of violence not long after the shooting occurred.
