Last night, a shooting disrupted the relative quiet of Fox Park, resulting in three people injured. The St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department, specifically officers from District 3, received reports of gunfire around 10:35 p.m. in the 2800 block of Shenandoah. According to their published statement, a 26-year-old woman was found with a bruising contusion to her arm inside a business following the incident.
Investigating further, police discovered a second victim, a 17-year-old girl, in the 2700 block of Sidney Street. She had sustained a graze wound to her knee. The chaos of the night continued to unfold as a third victim, a 20-year-old woman, was transported to the hospital by private means with a more serious gunshot wound to her chest. In an event that seemed to anticipate violence, the preliminary investigation reveals females were gearing up for a fight when the peace was shattered by gunfire. An as-yet unidentified man along with an a female arrived in a sedan, and it was the man who retrieved a firearm and began shooting towards the group.
The first victim's injury was treated on the scene by EMS, while the teen required hospital treatment but is reportedly in stable condition. The third victim's condition was also deemed stable, but she was unable to provide a statement immediately due to undergoing surgery. As for now, the police continue their investigation into the shooting, searching for clues to the identities of the assailants and their motives.
