Violence marred the early morning hours in San Antonio on Tuesday in two separate incidents that resulted in three people injured by gunfire. The San Antonio Police Department reported that a fight outside a Northwest Side bar precipitated one of the shootings, as reported by KTSA.
According to KTSA, the altercation outside Smitty’s Pub, on the 4100 block of Gardendale Road, unfolded around 2 a.m. when a disagreement between two men escalated. One of the individuals involved in the fight is said to have produced a firearm and shot the other in the buttocks. The victim, now hospitalized, is expected to make a full recovery. Following the incident, the suspect fled the scene and currently remains at large.
In a separate yet equally troubling event, officers responded to a drive-by shooting under an hour later, approximately 45 minutes following the bar incident. The North Side of San Antonio became a crime scene where two men were injured at a residence off West Magnolia Avenue near San Pedro Avenue, as per FOX San Antonio.
Detail of this second shooting was provided by FOX San Antonio, outlining that the assailant, a woman, drove past the home and opened fire, leaving one man with a leg wound and another with an arm injury. Both were subsequently admitted to a local hospital for treatment. No arrests have been made in relation to the drive-by shooting, and authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward. Amidst these unsettling outbreaks of gunfire, investigations continue as the San Antonio Police Department seeks to apprehend those responsible.
