The West Sacramento Police Department reported a serious traffic collision that occurred at 15th Street and Jefferson Blvd., which sadly resulted in the deaths of two individuals. According to a post on the department's official Facebook page, the crash prompted an immediate response from officers and first responders.
While the investigation was underway, the public was notified early in the morning that the two victims had succumbed to their injuries despite the dedicated efforts of medical teams. "Despite the best efforts of first responders and medical personnel, we are saddened to confirm that two individuals have tragically passed away due to their injuries," the West Sacramento Police Department announced through the social media update. The extensive traffic collision threw the area into disruption as the West Sacramento Police Department’s Traffic Unit remained on the scene to conduct a thorough investigation. Road closures and detours were set up, which impacted traffic in the vicinity for several hours. The police department had asked for the public's patience and cooperation during this time to ensure a meticulous investigation.
Eventually, at 1:00 pm, the situation seemed to resolve and the roads were reopened to the public.
