
A crash happened last Saturday on North Nellis Boulevard, just south of East Owens Avenue. A 2023 Tesla Model 3 struck someone crossing the street outside a marked crosswalk. The individual was taken to the hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The incident happened at around 9:25 p.m. and was reviewed using physical evidence and video footage. A Tesla driven by 60-year-old Maria Ramirez of Las Vegas was in the leftmost lane when a pedestrian entered the road and was hit. Emergency crews took the victim to University Medical Center Trauma Center. Ramirez and her two passengers, 94-year-old Olivia Torres and 63-year-old Antonio Torres, were not injured, as reported by the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department's Collision Investigation Section is investigating a traffic incident involving a pedestrian who remains in critical condition. The pedestrian's identity has not been released, pending family notification. The driver, Ramirez, showed no signs of impairment and cooperated with officers at the scene.
