
Three children were critically injured when a car struck a lemonade stand they were operating in a mobile home park on Conley Road in Morganton, Burke County, yesterday afternoon.
According to WCNC, the North Carolina State Highway Patrol confirmed the crash involved two vehicles and caused property damage, including hitting a neighborhood signpost. Troopers reported that the driver who struck the children was not at fault. The other driver, identified as Haley Erin McCorkle, was cited for failure to yield the right of way, a misdemeanor.
QC News reported the children are 7, 8, and 9 years old. Two were airlifted to a hospital, and the third was transported by ambulance. One child has been released to recover at home, while the other two remain hospitalized. Their names and exact conditions have not been disclosed.
