An incident unfolded yesterday afternoon in the Village of Waukesha, where two elderly individuals lost their lives in a multi-vehicle accident. As reported by WISN, two people, ages 91 and 92, were confirmed dead following a collision that involved their car and a semitruck.
The accident occurred near the intersection of Highway 164 and Lawnsdale Road just after 3:15 p.m., when, as per the Waukesha County Sheriff's Office, a 91-year-old woman driving the car attempted a left turn onto Lawnsdale Road the vehicle crossing into the path of the oncoming truck; this detail was further supported information given by Lt. Nicholas Wenzel obtained by WTMJ.
Upon colliding with the semi, which a 44-year-old man was driving, the woman's vehicle was pushed into another vehicle that was stopped at the intersection. The truck's driver and the individual behind the wheel of the third vehicle involved were transported to the hospital with injuries expected to be non-life-threatening, as reported by Fox 6.
The aftermath of the crash led to the closure of the intersection for several hours while the authorities, including Wisconsin State Patrol and local fire departments, conducted their on-scene investigation; the investigation into the cause of the accident is ongoing.
