Yesterday morning, a travel trailer in Casco Township became the scene of a harrowing escape. Two individuals managed to evade harm as their domicile succumbed to a fire reported at approximately 4:45 a.m. According to WZZM13, the South Haven Area Emergency Services (SHAES) was dispatched to the intersection of 68th Street near 102nd Avenue, where they found the structure "fully engulfed in flames."
SHAES personnel, having contained the fire quickly to prevent its wrath from devouring nearby buildings, also provided on-scene aid to the occupants. The same two people escaped only to be confronted with the aftermath of the blaze, which the American Red Cross came to support, as reported by WOODTV. Fortunately, no injuries were sustained during the incident.
SHAES's actions, praised for their efficiency, ultimately prevented what could have escalated into a more tragic event. Investigations are still underway to determine the exact cause of the fire.
