Two men have been taken into custody in relation to a fatal shooting that occurred in South Cumminsville, Cincinnati. The Hamilton County coroner declared the victim, Jevon Kirk, 27, dead following injuries sustained from a shooting on May 30 at his Llewellyn Avenue residence, as reported by WLWT.
Keron Bonds, 24, and Landin Behanan, 27, have been charged with felonious assault in connection with Kirk's death, documents obtained from court records by LOCAL12. Assert that Bonds is the alleged perpetrator, having shot Kirk "multiple times," as reported by WLWT. Behanan's role, as stated in the records, was driving Bonds to the scene of the crime. Despite the serious nature of the charges, both men deny knowing one another or the victim, according to the defense statements shared with the press.
The incident, which has since escalated to a homicide case after Kirk succumbed to his injuries at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, was initially reported as an assault. An affidavit cited by FOX19 describes Behanan as "knowingly assisted" in the commission of the crime, playing a part in transporting Bonds to Kirk's home.
In addition to the charges linked to the shooting, court documents reveal that Bonds faces unrelated drug trafficking and possession charges. His bond was set at nearly $200,000, an amount reflecting the gravity of the combined offences.
