A tragic domestic dispute in the Hollywood neighborhood of Memphis escalated into violence, resulting in two women being shot this morning. The Memphis Police Department (MPD) responded to a call around 2 AM and found the victims on Nedra Avenue off Davis Street, as detailed in reports by Action News 5 and FOX13 Memphis.
Authorities reported that one woman was rushed to Regional One Health in critical condition; another was detained and taken to the same hospital, with her status later improved to stable. FOX13 Memphis described the shooting as stemming from an argument between the two women. The situation intensified, with the mother of one of the women shooting at the suspect after witnessing her waving a handgun, leading to the suspect’s injury.
The suspect reportedly came from an alley before the shooting and told the victim, "You all know what I'm looking for," then shots were fired. According to a police report obtained by FOX13 Memphis, the woman's mother shot the suspect, prompting the suspect also to fire shots, which resulted in injuries to the other woman. The injured woman's condition was deemed critical.
