
Violence punctuated the routine of downtown Baltimore on Sunday evening when two young individuals were injured by gunfire. According to WBALTV, the incident occurred near the intersection of Light and Lombard streets around 6 p.m., where a 17-year-old boy and a 19-year-old man sustained non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities have not disclosed the identification of a suspect nor the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
Detectives from the Central District Shooting Unit are handling the ongoing investigation. An officer was near the location when approached by a person warning of an armed individual in the vicinity, shortly before multiple gunshots were heard, FOX Baltimore reported. The rapid response of the officer led to the discovery of the two victims, who were then rushed to an area hospital for treatment.
